Finland has a deeply-embedded sauna culture; so much so, in fact, that there are two million saunas in a country that has a population of just 5.3 million people. That's why it makes perfect sense for this particular vessel to be equipped with a room that can reach temperatures as high as 194°F. In accordance with Finnish tradition, the best way to enjoy the experience is to jump straight into the icy lake when you can't take the heat anymore. But we especially love the innovative use of recycled materials to create this industrial chic floating raft.

While Finland is known for its rock bottom temperatures, it does experience a summer, which is when the raft's upper deck becomes the perfect place to sunbathe and relax in one of the many onboard hammocks. For the more adventurous, it serves as a launchpad for somersaults and backflips. The roof has also been home to picnic tables, a BBQ, and the occasional trampoline since it first came into existence.
Built on top of repurposed plastic drums, and powered by a small outboard motor, the floating sauna was too good for the friends to keep to themselves. So they decided to make it available to others as well. If you find yourself in Finland, make sure to hire the raft for a day or two and experience one of the world's most unique saunas.
