Artist r1 beautified Johannesburg’s urban fabric yet again with his recently completed reclaimed wood art installation. Commissioned by the owners of the new Betty Fox grocery store in the Maboneng Precinct, r1 breathes life into an old neglected wall with a large geometric wood mural that stretches over 20 meters in length and 2.5 meters in height. The Betty Fox artwork is made up of 120 reclaimed wood panels sourced from local businesses. The treated and varnished wood pieces are fixed to the wall with over a thousand steel industrial bolts.
