Lor-K’s EAT ME project comprises a dozen sculptures, all created on-site on the streets of Paris. The artworks are site-specific and take two to six hours to complete. One finished, the artist leaves the fate of the sculpture to the city and will be inevitably removed by either an art collector or garbage man.

While the concept and process are interesting in themselves, it’s Lor-K’s attention to detail that takes EAT ME to the next level. Whether it’s the illusion of powdered sugar on the waffle mattress or the grill marks on the toasted cushion baguette, the beautifully executed installations make it challenging to believe that the delicious objects were born from dirty mattresses. "As with all my projects, my main goal is to attract the attention of passersby on the waste littering the sidewalks of our cities," she told Fast Company. "I wish to highlight their potential."
