Collective Paper Aesthetics, a Netherlands-based studio founded by Noa Haim, was commissioned to design the exhibit for Taiwan’s National Science and Technology Museum, where it will be on display until August. The giant robot is made from recycled cardboard printed directly with colorful ink.

Building the colossal structure meant more to the team than simply assembling boxes. Haim explains, “Energy is more than physical or mechanical power. Energy is about social strength, collaboration and inclusion.” Each of these values is represented in the Windmill Robot, from conception to execution. The very design of dozens of individual pieces making up one giant, collective structure reflects how communities can work together to build better industries for the future.
